Hi all
As you may have seen I have had a few postings on here recently about dog crates and I have received some great advice. A special thanks to CAYLA for the absolutely brilliant guide she sent to me! Thanks.
Anyhow, I am bringing home my 8 week old cocker on Friday and I would like to get a crate for her for when she arrives, being as I now have my other little girl in a crate at night.
I have been checking out sizes and think that I will go for an extra small crate which is recommended for cockers when they are grown so I am sure that this will be fine for a start and then I can move her into a small when she grows out of it.
Anyway, my question is, can anyone recommend where I can get a cage from at a good price. I brought my other one from preloved and its great but there are none local to me listed at the moment and the same really with e-bay. As I am sure that I will have to get a bigger cage as she grows, I am really trying to keep the price to a minimum but I have seen second hand ones advertised at £30 upwards!
Any suggestions??
Thanks

Maybe not the cheapest but are reasonably priced and you can go too cheap.I have seen some that are so thin and would fold if any pressure was put on them.Their cages and crates are not only stainless steel but are galvanised on top as well, I always go for the 3 door as if they are in the car and you have a rear end shunt you still have 2 doors you can open to get them out. They come with free bedding, free stainless steel bowls (2) and brackets to hold them on the side of the crate and a divider to separate it into 2.
Oz :)

LOL. :p I was just impressed that the one I bought was exactly half the price of the Savic one I'd been intending to buy, a saving of sixty quid!

any crate is cheap compared to chewed shoes, chewed or peed on furniture, and cleaning u any mess! a crate is a long term investment. buy a good one that you wont outgrow! so handy in so many situations!

I would have advise a smaller crate, so many gets crates a puppy can literally swim in and they are alot harder to toilet train thid way.
OP, you would prob get away with the same crate, as so wont end up needing to big of a crate with a cocker and u can fill up the space with a plastic bed for now or get a crate divider if need be.

Dog Health gets my vote to, the galvanised ones, as I travel my dogs in crates I am happier to know they are less likely to fall apart or get crushed in an accident than some of the cheaper flimsy ones :D
