Please could anyone tell me the size and no of warm up arenas for BD at Sheepgate/Vale View/Elms Farm/Brooksby and Sissons. Apologies for the long list! Warm up space is a slight issue for us..................

Vale View: plenty of room and it never seems to be that busy that the warm-up gets packed, but maybe I've just been lucky. This could change now they've got the new indoor though, so maybe ring and ask, they're always v helpful.

Elms Farm: not been for BD but imagine it is the same square warm-up they use for most shows which isn't very big at all, about 30m x 30m if you're lucky.

Can't help on the others, I'm just a trainee diva so haven't been further afield.

Thanks Baydale - Elms Farm looks to be avoided then!

.

Be interested to hear about Sheepgate?

Jupiter and I did a bit of "freestyling" there last year.

Sheepgate has an indoor (about 20x40) and an outdoor (20x60) warm up and is really nice
Brooksby is like trying to warm up on a postage stamp, hardly enough room to canter, went once for dressage- never again
Vale is also nice and roomy but not been for a few months so don't know what its like now as they were doing a lot of work when we were there last, also really nice surfaces
Why not check out the centres website as they usually tell you about facilities adn sizes of arenas etc
Hope this helps

vale view-nice roomy warm up, either the 20 x60 or the square arena which is slightly bigger still, nice surface which is ok even in heavy rain.

elms farm-last time i went there was either the outdoor square, which i think is about 40 x 40, or the 20 x 60 indoor.both decent surfaces.there is also a lunging ring (or was).

sheepgate-20 x 40 outdoor which can ride deep in the rain or the the indoor which is approx 20 x 40 i think, only drawback is the surface is grey/black and stains legs/bandages horribly.

Thank you that's all v helpful.

I like the idea of your "freestyling" Baydale

- since we've started a little jumping, Heidi likes to put in the odd invisible jump in to her test

. We have lots of invisible jumps in the warm up...................

Samuelwhiskers - I think we may have met briefly at Arena UK (unaff dressage) a few months ago. I THINK I recognise your grey. Heidi was 3 then - her first show and if I'm right spent most of her time begging you (along with all others) for polos in the warm up

- she still hasn't learnt not to accept sweets from strangers........
