Info on Insulin Resistance Treatment

My Welsh Section B has just been diagnosed as insulin resistant. Does anyone have any feedback on using NoMetSyn, Heiro (US Product) or Metformin to help control this? He has been on milk thistle for six weeks and I am awaiting results of second blood test to see if this has had any positive effect on his insulin sensitivity. Thanks.
