Ingatestone ..worth a trip ?? :)

YES! I travel from Northampton to Ingatestone between Christmas and new year, its become a little treat for myself each Christmas :)

Definitely go, I always end up with a trolley full of things. Loads of choice, friendly staff and good prices for a lot of things. Just be careful as they add VAT on at the end...what was within my budget became nearly £100 over budget.

Do they?! I didn't know that, I just hand over my bank card

I'm sure they don't add vat at the till? I was there a week or so ago and the label matches the receipt (i've just checked!) so VAT is included it the prices.
Anyway best thing about Ingatestone is the Cafe, All Day Breakfast for me please?

I haven't been for about 6 months but last time I went that was what happened.

I'm a regular and ticket price is definitely the same at the till....I think their prices are invariably a bit cheaper, they are good with returns, cafe is OK, good selection of sizes usually...they stock feed, bedding and doggie stuff too - worth a visit....allow plenty of time!

Cannot bear Ingatestone. They have some lovely staff but the owners are a***holes, quite frankly & I refuse to give such people my custom. The stories I could tell!

That was before I went there, the stroppy woman in her late 50's early 60's now, I find one of the daughters really helpful but it was the older woman I have had a couple of run ins with, I have also witnessed a few people rowing with her on the shop floor

I don't know the owners but live about 2 hours away but go a couple of times a year for a trip with my sisters (who are nearer). love the sheer size of the place and it is reasonably easy to find what you are looking for (and unfortunately, very easy to find loads of things you don't need but which just jump into your trolley!). I'd definitely go if you are just an hour away :)

That may have been me!
The parents are long gone. The daughter is the late middle aged woman. Tried to get one over on me but failed. And as for the brother... Don't get me started!

I don't care for the management, the feckless staff or the poor range and over-inflated price tags. I also find their "sales" laughable.

And Twiggy isn't doing SS.

Where do you manage to buy the same stuff cheaper? By the time I've added on postage and had to stay in for delivery, and had the hassle of sending back if it doesn't fit I find Ingatestone works out a reasonable option. Please share your shopping secrets!
