Planning a trip to Ingatestone on Sunday to treat myself to a new pair of boots.

Anyone know of any nice pubs around the area we could stop off for lunch?

Hopefully they’ll open up the cafe soon as that’s my go to for a pit stop when I’m there. Prob after mid may though. It’s kind of middle of nowhere though so I don’t know of anywhere else in the area.

A few places might be open in Chelmsford? I know not super near but I often go there with my friend who works at Ingatestone after her shift finishes.

The Black Bull at Margaretting? I think it’s open. Not posh food but decent pub grub and lovely landlords.
It’s about 100 m from Ingatestone.

There’s a lot in Writtle which isn’t far away.

If you don’t mind a 20 minute drive, the anchor at hullbridge is lovely.

It’s a shame the cafe isn’t open, as I have heard rave reviews, maybe I’ll have to have another trip up there later in the year...

I think we’ll try the Black Bull, and failing that possible venture into Writtle!

Blackmore farmers market might be on, in which case definitely get to The Leather Bottle! Watch out for the deer on the way though, they're everywhere! It's about 10 minutes away from ISC but well worth it!
