Inhand Veteran Showing - To plait or not ?

Need a bit of advice .... I'm taking my 35 year old New forest x arab to a local show , we took him last year but just before his class the heavens and the show was abandoned !
He thinks he's 10 still and is in great condition , enjoys going out and i'm very proud of him and would like to show him off !! ( like every other horse owner )
Not sure if I should plait him ? I didn't last time but have seen that some people say he should be ?

As he is a part bred he should really be plaited, I am sure he will think it's more of a big deal if he is and enjoy his special day out

I definitely would plait if he is not pure NF. Have fun. The oldies always still like going out for a bit of a party! And photos on here are obligitory!
