Out of interest (and regardless of call out fees) which is cheaper or do they work out the same....

- Flu and tet injection together in one
- Flu and tet as single injections so on different occasions (not including call out fee merely the injection costs)

There is method to this madness! :)

I've never had tetanus done separately, but the flu is only £3 or 4 cheaper than flu/tet. The vet practice I used to work at also had it cheaper when they were done together as separately.

That's interesting. My horse usually has flu and tet in April. I missed her flu by a week so have re started. My other horses are due for tet only in oct. this is when my first horse will be having her last flu. I can't decide whether to bring her fly inline with her tet next April or to leave it for every October?! So confused

Your vet will most likely give both at one of the 3 vaccinations. It isn't a big deal at all. Can't over vaccinate for tetanus. No point doing them separately - it will cost almost twice as much and if you failed to remember when the vaccine was due this year then you certainly don't want to have to remember extra data in the year. Also tetanus only needs doing every second year.

I can handle remembering 2 dates, my other 2 horses are due oct each year and I was very ill in April hence how it was missed. I know tetanus needs doing every other year, her tetnaus isn't due until April next year. I thought this dilema might be too complicated to write as a post which is why I just needed to know about the cost of the injections and if they charge to administer them too....anyway, thank you for your input.
