I just found this on the American site abc News Blogs: Injured Dog Rescued From Mountain; Owner Who Left It There Wants It Back.

What do you think?

I saw this story on the Daily Mail website this morning; I think the original owner has got a nerve demanding his dog back after he abondoned her on a moutain to die. I understand why he left her when he couldn't carry her down himself but why didn't he go back?

The other people who found her also left her but got together with other climbers to go back for her, all this for a dog they had no emotional connection to.

I know who I think should keep the dog & it's not her original owner, I hope her rescuers are allowed to keep her.

Dogs aren't stupid, I wouldn't mind betting she knows her owner never came back for her but that these strangers did. She'll always have a bond with her rescuers. They should keep her, without them she'd be dead.

Shame on the owner

My view is :

who in their right mind takes a dog up the mountain
How can he say he could not bring her down when it shows a climber with her on the back. why couldn her do this?
8 days he left her that is long enough to get help and attempt to get her.
he assumed she had died.......... righttttttttttttttttttt, so he did not bother to check was happy to leave her to her fate..

Let the rescuers keep her, he sounds like a
loser.gif
anyway

This.

I'm afraid I would be telling the original owner where to go!!! - I wish her rescuers could do this and just keep her!

After making such a valiant effort to rescue a dog whom they didn't know and didn't know how bad her injuries were and whether she would even survive,, they should be allowed to keep her - they have already shown their devotion to her!

The picture where she's being carried in the backpack, she looks quite content. Bless her, I'm so glad she was rescued I don't know how her original owner can live with himself.
