This morning Mick Fitzgerald is being transferred by air ambulance from Liverpool to Nuffield Hospital, Oxford, where he has a bed on the Oxford Clinic Ward.

Mick Fitzgerald suffered a fall in yesterdays Grand National from his ride L'Ami at the 2nd fence. He is currently in Royal Liverpool University Hospital. This morning he will under go a MRI scan on his neck and this website will be updated as and when with further information on his condition. He is reported to be comfortable and under going assessment. Mick and his partner Chloe would like to thank everyone for all the well wishes they have received.

Mick Fitzgerald underwent an eight hour operation on Sunday to re-align three vertebrae and two discs in his neck, in respect of the injury he sustained in a fall in Saturday's Grand National. He is reported to have come through the operation well and also has movement in his limbs.
He is obviously being closely monitored by the medical team at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital and investigations are also being made into the possibility of him being moved closer to home. Chloe, Mick's partner has spoken to him after the operation and he is in a comfortable condition
