Injury from kicking stable door/walls

My mare Amber came with big knees. In fact the vet suggested cortisone injections. We did not, as I had seen her kneeing the door at the previous yard. I put a grid on the door so she could not stand close enough to knee the door. The knees went down, and she was always sound, no intervention.

Interesting!! My boy has a suspected coffin joint inflammation and farrier is convinced it's been caused by him kicking his stable which he does with a serious whack! I'm going to put mats where he usually kicks and see whether prevention will stop the lameness, I think he mainly does it for the noise he can make so the matting should ruin his fun...

Absolutely we had a TB who kicked the back wall whilst eating hard feed. He would do it until lame. I should add he was neglected and under fed for a while prior to us having him. We moved his bucket from a trough in the corner to the front door and that solved the problem
