injury what is it - any help or advice appreciated

any thoughts on what damage this could be

my horse out on loan went thro an electric fence (someone else leaned a gate against it and shorted it) 2 days after she gave me 30 days notice to give her back.anyway this was at beg august - got vet out gave her weeks box rest then scanned and xrayed a week later which came back clear - then gave her further two weeks off - anyway my insutructor wants to buy her so walked her a mile in hand to her yard on saturday and she sat on her on monday and turnede her out with other horses and now shes lame again.vet is talking referal to the college and scanning again in case he missed something... is it normal to scan again? the swelling is at the backof her fetlock, any ideas what this could be? thanks!

as she has been turned out with other horses it is possible that she may have damaged a tendon or ligament so in this case she is not been rescanned for the same problem?!

So i would sya yes its normal to scan it again.

I would also say that there are a hell of a lot of things it could be from something as siimple as a nock or something more serious like a tendon or ligament injury.

its the same problem think instructor thinks that going out with other horses could have made her run round and hurt herself

tendon sheath damage, perhaps. i think a re-scan is a very good idea.

would that not of shown on the first scan?sorry to be ignorant, i havent ever had leg problems before. the majority of the swelling now is at the back of the fetlock joint. this pic was taken just after doing it.

no it wouldnt... youve turned her out.. shes ran round and hurt her self again.. possibly worse than last time! It is a different injury, even if it is the same place.

agreed, she's possibly exacerbated a slight weakness that was there before.
i'd ice or cold hose it in the meantime, until it's scanned.
