Hi all, I am after some help or to find out if anyone else has come across this too?
Last year my pony came in and just above his hocks he was covered in pussy scabs, they looked like burn blisters almost and they appeared litterally overnight
After a week of hibbiscrub and cream they cleared and touch wood he hasnt had them again since so i put it down to a reaction to an insect bite? Now he has a full fly rug and the strongest repellant i can get hold of.
Yesterday my friend turned out her horse and to her horror saw that overnight she had rubbed her dock raw and it was a bleeding/weeping mess. On closure inspection she also has the same looking scabbs/blisters too but across her body in random small patches and I can feel the scabs under her coat.
Do these sound like reactions to insects bites or should we be more worried?
