I have just put one of these on my mare. The horseflies are rampant here and I have tried every spray going. Tri tec being the most recent one. It had zero effect. Has anyone else tried the collars? I have the Equi 7 one. It smells nice and seems soft and comfortable. Just hoping my daft mare doesn't get it caught up on something. It is secured by two plastic poppers so hopefully will break away if she gets it caught. I'll report back as she is out with no fly rug today.

I'd be impressed/amazed if it works. I thought horse flies hunted by sight hence why sprays and chemicals don't generally work

It's insecticidal as well as repellent. It apparently workss a bit like spot on and the chemical gradually works its way all over the animal. A couple of hours after putting it on I went down the field and so far so good. She was the only one without flies around her and I didn't see a single horsefly on her where as the others had a few land on them. Not counting my chickens yet though as it wasn't a really bad day for horseflies.

We tried these last year. Horses managed to lose them pretty quickly! Haven't bothered with them this year!

I tried them I'm 3 horses last year. Didn't work & fastenings broke easily - & my lot aren't destructive. Someone advertises them on Facebook & I commented that I had used them & they were useless.
