Not only are organised fights worth up to £70,000 so it's no surprise they are on the rise, dogs are now being used to settle arguments between individuals. Apparently this is preferable to a human being getting injured. If dog is no longer able to be used for this purpose after a fight, you can get hold of another one or two easily.

A female trainer was interviewed, she had lost around 50 dogs in fights, but seemed to be sort of sentimental about them, they were buried in her garden with plaques and ornaments on the graves. She seemed to be working for people higher up the chain. Two of her dogs were shown being trained, one, a rottweiller, was being trained to fight bull breeds.

There seems to be no end to peoples greed or cowardice and need for violence

That's awful. I knew it went on and that there were large sums involved but I didn't realise it was on such a big scale that just one trainer could have had 50 of their dogs killed (and presumably in the fights that her dogs 'won' the opponent dog was killed). Some people are truly awful, with a terrifying lack of empathy.

I would be unable to watch that, this is absolutely disgusting, the person who made the documentary needs to hand in all the information to the police and the RSPCA. Absolute scum of the earth.

We don't know that has not happened.

As I understood it, she was training the dogs "under pressure" for other people higher up the chain, who were in it for the money. I gathered its now on a huge scale with such big money its rivalling drug dealing and is a crime that is increasing fast.

I watched it, wished I hadnt and then cried my eyes out for 20mins. Given the choice between one of the dogs and one of the gang members, I'd choose the dog everytime!
