As title :) My 'everyday' hat is a bit manky inside after a fair few long hacks in the hot weather. While I wash my hair pretty often, and I expect to get hat hair, it is quite horrid when I take my hat off :( Any ideas from you clever people (other than buying a new one!)

Dry cleaning foam or even trying with a sponge and fairy liquid, letting dry and then sponging until repeating causes no other dirt comes out, but do remember that hats aren't forever and the realistic lifespan of a hat is only 5 years! (BETA Hat fitting course)
The deoderiser will reduce some of it but usually masks the sweat/dirt.

Thanks all, think I will try the tea tree wipes, bit concerned about 'dunking' the thing! Hat is only three years old, so should last a bit longer, thank goodness. :)

Not so much of a genuine suggestion/recommendation, as an amusing tale - but I know someone who places a panty-liner in the front of her hat in hot weather/sweaty situations, and removes and replaces it every few wears - she assures me it has never slipped out in front of an audience, but I'm not brave enough to try just in case!

i use charles owen hat deoderiser and it seems to do a very good job! With my old hat, id wash it in a bucket of water with fairy liquid every 2/3 months or so, then let it dry out naturally. Seemed to do the job, but after 2 years of everyday use, i think its time was over :p now i have my new one, and the hat deoderiser is preventing the need to wash it so far! :)

You can also get from Derby House cleaners and deoderisers and liners if not keen on pany liners lol. 5 for £5 a year ago and I used them in summer.
