Do any of you have a dog that lives in and one(s) that live out. May have to go down this route soon and wondering how it works.
Do the outside ones get jealous of the insiders?

My dogs live inside (GSDs) and my husband's live out in kennels (working sheepdogs). They do seem to see themselves as two separate packs (although we do walk them together at times most days as well) and the outside dogs do act rather submissively to the inside dogs for some reason - whether that has anything to do with the fact they live inside or not I have no idea!

My dogs live out and any fosters we have live in - never caused any problems. They live out when we aren't in the house/asleep and are in for cuddles when we are home.

We used to have a mix of labs/crosses/various - up to 7 at once. The older ones lived in the house, while the younger ones lived in an out-building and came into the house when we were in the house during the day. I can't really say that there was much difference between them, although the younger ones usually deferred to the older ones.

We used to have the working terriers out and the pets in. Agree that the outside dogs were below the inside ones in the pecking order. If the outside came inside (for illness or retirement) there was usually a stressful few days while they climbed the ladder. Ours were walked together as well.
