Hi with all the news about breakins etc ... Another one was posted by keepers cottage :( I no longer leave anything valuable at yard ... But where do I put all this stuff ????
My car is looks like & is beginning to smell like a tack room & every part of the house seems to have something horsey in it - my rugs are no longer left at yard so these are also in car shed etc - all ideas welcome xx

I have some boxes the same size and shape as a small hay bale and have used these to bury spare stuff in the hay pile before

I also have a load of brackets fixed above head level in the cubby hole under my stairs - it means I have to wait until my husband is around to get things down though!

Watching this with interest - as things stand my garage is full of a double saddle rack and all sorts of associated detritus :) I really do need to find out how to drill, plug and screw racks and hooks into block work, either that or pay a local handyman to do it for me.

I'm liking the idea of boxes hidden in hay :) it's the every day stuff I have problems with especially this time of year - always like to have an exercise sheet handy & a spare rug & being as we have 2 have 2 of most things - by the time I gave dog & tack in the car can't get anything else in xx

A friend of mine put a false ceiling in her stables and created a sort of loft space with a hidden hatch to store rugs etc. Obviously you need enough roof height in the stable but I thought this was a good idea as not necessarily where a burglar would look although now I've advertised it!!

Garage roof space is also somewhere to store rugs etc if you've got suitable roof space and beams and board it out.

These boxes are excellent!!! I've fitted 2 heavy stables, 2 heavy turnouts, 1 medium weight turnout, a lightweight turnout, lightweight stable, sheet, fleece, cooler and a headcollar all in one box!!

I have one for each horse and it keeps all their regular gear in one place.....however there are still stacks of rugs, buckets, boots etc in the house!
