Has anyone had a roof wind driven air extractor (Flettner TCX-2 Roof Vent Van Wind Driven as an example) installed in the roof of their horsebox and if so, who did you get to install it?

I had one fitted about 3 years ago. I used a local coachworks company. I bought the vent myself so I just paid for the fitting. .

OH put additional ones in ours as current horse gets warm travelling. Think any caravan place or horse box place should be able to do as quite easy.

If you or your OH are fairly competent DIYers you could do it yourself. My OH put in a manually opening one and my dad fitted a powered roof fan

I had a few put in my 3.5t van as the condensation was dripping down the walls and the horses were sweating. We used a local coachworks to put them in and they worked perfectly.

I have always been slightly puzzled why the horse part of my lorry doesn’t really heat up. The cab heats up in summer (too old for air conditioning and fan is erratic at best). But the horse area stays pretty cool. My lorry roof vibrates on the motorway (panel flexes), but my horse is used to it, and I am loathe to change anything whilst it stays lovely and cool.

That is interesting flying_high, I was wondering about it as most 3.5t boxes only have the 2 windows and a roof vent in the horse area, which is a long way off from a trailer with the same, but half the back open. It makes sense that the box would be more insulated than the thin skin around a trailer though.
