Any recommendations for ones which actually work?

I've used Equine america So-Kalm paste before and although it's very good, it takes a long time to kick in (3 hours??). I need something I can give at 6.45am tomorrow ready to load up at 7.15am, and be cubbing at 8am. So it needs to work within an hour.

Give me a hand guys...it's this or ACP

(joke!!!!!)

I'm not really sure which others are out there. My background is sciencey based so I'm afraid Oxyshot is a no-no because I don't believe the "science" behind it. Do Topspec do an instant calmer?

Thanks

Cool, thanks. I tried their daily feed one - didn't work on the gelding but worked on the mare, strangely! Have never fed this horse a calmer and as a general rule he doesn't need one, but I do need to take the edge off tomorrow.

I have used Supreme Products De-Fuse but normally give it 1 1/2 - hours beforehand. Worth a try.
Equimins Serenity (in the syriinge) seemed to do something as well (they sell it in Telford Saddlery

I know it isnt an answer to the question

but ... have you tried the Equine America Magnitude? Could you put some in a small feed the night before?

I have found this worked great for my mare when we went to an exciting ride the next day.

Hb

Is cubbing good for a horse that I dont think has been hunting before? Just thinking of having a go at it soon

I've used Oxyshot for exactly the same reason and guess what...? Same result! Magic calmer was an improvement, just took the edge off a little, though...

Is the Magnitude one of those you're supposed to feed every day to build it up, or can I just feed it the night before? I'm willing to give it a go but I don't want him on a daily calmer as he doesn't need it, just need to chill him out a bit for hunting.

Yes, I would take something that has never hunted, cubbing. But you need to get a move on, there's only a couple of weeks left til they start "proper" hunting! Come out tomorrow

there was deffo a difference for she didnt run off with me at all which for her is gooooood.

I can post you some if you want to give it a go before buying a whole tub?

Pwefff tomorrow are you kidding? I need far more stressing time than that lol! Could come and watch on foot tho.

Yay, come and say hello on foot

Meet at 8am (early start then!!), I know vaguely where it is but trying to get hold of Sec to find out exactly where.

I don't so much need to stop him running off as need to stop him boiling over with excitement as he gets silly and borderline dangerous then. This is the last attempt at hunting as if he hasn't settled by now, I'm giving up!

Equimins Serenity is a god saver, its guaranteed to work or your money back.

It's not an instant calmer, its one the you put in the food daily but within a few days I noticed a clear differnce is his attitude to work and his engery levels.

I used Instant Magic for a horse who was a poor loader and traveller. Gave it to her, then left her alone for 45 mins. Worked a treat, she loaded & travelled like a dream

I think with any of these instant things, inc ACP thats the trick, give it then leave them completely alone and quiet.

I find the nupafeed syringes good - need to give them about an hour - 1 1/2 hours before but they seems to work much better than the others for my boy.

Thanks Kenzo but I really do only need an instant one. He's an angel most of the time but is a total demon out hunting and can be v silly then, so I just need somnething to chill him out a bit and take the edge off. I don't want to add another supplement to the list of things to be fed every day when he doesn't need it. Have purcahsed some NAF Magic as it was the only thing I could get
