I'm looking for a riding holiday with beach riding and some lessons and cross country schooling in the UK. Approx 4 or more hours riding a day.

In a perfect world it would be somewhere with spa treatments as well!!!!! But I'll settle for just the riding holiday!!! The OH will have to massage me at the end of the day!!!

Porlock Vale used to be very good.. not sure what it is like now... should tick a lot of boxes..

I think the beach part will be tricky, unless you go to Ireland.

If you forego the beach, then places such as Talland, and the Yorkshire Riding Centre (Bartles) would be top of my list for an educational holiday.

What standard riding do you want to be taught?

Wheel Buller in Cornwall will give you beaches and scenery but I dont rate the lessons. They have a 'cross country course' too.

If you want something actually educational then Talland or Yorkshire Riding Centre would be your best bets.

I'm in this dilemma myself, so I can't help your but I'll keep an eye on your post and if you have a look at mine someone might say something useful.

I like the look of the Yorkshire Riding centre but their weight limit is too low for my OH otherwise I'd go there!! Thanks for the info.

Thanks, I don't live that far from Talland and can be taught by Pammy Hutton for just £15 per lesson through the riding club so probably wouldn't bother with a course up there.

I've been to Wheel Buller in 2002 and the beach ride was the first one I had and the best I've ever had!

I've brought my Horsy mags with me today and will have a look at some of the web sites then post them here for an opinion from everyone. Thank you all.
