If my poor new horse could type she would already have written the below request, probably adding a few swear words:

Anyone know any really good flatwork instructors in west yorkshire/south yorkshire/derbyshire region. I used to travel to Chesterfield so don't mind a 45 min- 1 hour drive; I'm based in Huddersfield/Wakefield area. I need someone who will get me doing the basics right and will be very picky with my position/aids. I'm not a quick learner so they need to have the patience of a saint!

Janice Chadwick, is welll qualified, and experienced, and also specialises in nervous riders, so is extremely patient, she never gets fed up of me wittering on, and has trained from grass root nervous riders, to competition winners!
Theyre in East Yorkshire, just off the m62, in Howden.

Nicky Moxon - she is brilliant and lives in Wintersett, Crofton Wakefield Nicky will travel to you or you can go to her. She is really patient and understanding, i cant recommend her enough.
Nicky is on facebook.

I would email you her number but i dont know how to on here x

Good luck

I'd recommend Lisa Lane - she's a freelancer based near Huddersfield. She's an absolute genius, I moved away from the area a few years ago and can't find anyone half as good - big on the basics, and a very good eye for position etc. I think her details are on the bhs site....

Been my instructor for a good 10 years too...

Thank you so much for your suggestions, I've had a few PMs too so thanks for those. I'll have a look into the suggestions. I have been riding since I was 5 but it's hard to tell! I think my main problem is using my seat incorrectly and not knowing the correct things to do with my body. Sometimes things work but I don't know what I've done but more often things are going wrong and I don't know what to alter. I'd like to do more jumping but need to work on my flatwork first and also my position.
