Insulin Resistance and Laminitis

Has anyone had any experience of insulin resistant laminitis? One of my ponies is suffering from it and is on Metformin.

Any experiences and advice really appreciated.

My pony had it last year. She was stabled for 7 months but she made it worse because she was stressing about being stabled. After the 7 months she was able to go out for 20 min every other day. (By the time I had caught her it was more like 45 min!) This was slowly increased. She is ok this year up now. I turn her out every night in a mud field with soaked hay and she is on a strick work routine.
