Ok, so I've been meaning to get my youngster insured for aaaages! Probably cover her for everything but mainly vet fees and third party! I thought because if i start taking her for walks, breaking her in ect then i'll have more peace of mind and wont have to worry about her wrecking peoples cars and things!

So I googled it, and E and I came up, but looking at reviews of them they seem like a company I should stay away from!

I've come to the conclusion either pet plan or NFU are they best to be with. Just want advice on any insurance company, and which are they best for paying out with out a fuss!!

E & L not good. Used it on dog once and they weaselled out of paying up and when they did took ages.

I use SEIB, which I am very happy with and they pay promptly without too much hassle. There are other reliable ones.

I'm with SEIB, over the last 7 years have had about 6k of claims paid for my 3 with no issues at all. Have got friends who use Petplan who are happy with the service.

I did use NFU for my youngster, but after it kept going up without any claims I switched to KIBS. More cover and a cheaper quote :)

Just had a look at SEIB, don't want to sound thick but its called south essex insurance brokers, that doesn't mean I have to live in essex does it? Im guessing not but just want to clarify it hahaha

I use PetPlan, excellent at paying, rubbish at administration!

You may however be surprised (as I was) to hear that Breaking etc is actually group 4, so fairly costly compared to youngstock turned out.

It's more expensive to break your horse in a school, than to hack a horse on the roads!

Nope, I live in Surrey (and before that Oxfordshire), no need to be living in Essex! Not that there's anything wrong with Essex before I cause trouble....

I was insured with E&L for around 10 years with my old girl and had no problems with them. I had a couple of fairly large claims, one for the onset of arthritis and another for a field injury.
Both times they paid up promptly with no issue although I did read the policy properly before taking it out and did follow to the letter their claims procedure so there was really no reason why they shouldn't have paid.

I'm now with Amtrust but haven't (touches wood!) had to claim with them yet so don't actually know if they're really good or not. Would have taken out an E&L policy again though with my new boy but the quote was very high.
