I'm thinking about changing insurance co for my mare; I know I can get the monthly premiums cheaper elsewhere (with same co my other 2 are insured with) for the same cover.
Query is she currently has some exclusions relating to lameness that I will need to declare. One of the exclusions is arthritis/degenerative joint disease if hocks and fetlocks. Now my issue is, a few years back she was diagnosed by a vet (I would now not go within 100 miles of) that she had arthritis, plus a couple of other things (aged 5 btw!). My insurer at the time obtained a third opinion who said she did not have arthritis, but confirmed the other two things. So I'm wondering if new insurer would accept this old report or whether I'd need to get a new vet report or vetting in order to have these conditions covered. Or not declare them at all which isn't really something I'm prepared to do.
Any thoughts please??
of course I will probably just call them and ask but wondering if anyone has experience of exclusions that were actually through misdiagnosis?
