Claiming my insurance for the first time for vet fees. I had a strange phone call yesterday from my insurance company (apparently...now beginning to wonder) asking if I could send them a copy of my horse’s medical history page from his passport. I thought this was a bit bizarre as on the claim form it states that you must give information about any previous claims and any previous vet practices that you’ve used for the animal for their vet history. Both my previous vets and previous insurers information was supplied with the claim, so not sure why they want the page out the passport. Effectively I’ll be sending them a copy of a blank page?! I’ve only used my passport for vaccine stamps for competing.... slightly worried though as noticed I’ve not changed it to my married name 😰

it won't matter about your married name vs maiden name. you can legally use either.

As for the vet page, i'd give them a call back on the number on your paperwork and clear it up that way

They ask for this so they can see which vets you have used for vaccinations. then they can get the medical history from them as well and check its not pre existing. Its standard practice for my insurance company.

Great, thanks, glad it seems the norm. Still not received an email they said they would send though. On looking at it panicking too as over the 14 years of vaccinations there’s been the odd vet who’s only signed and not stamped when vaccinating. I’m sure it will be okay though.
