Hello, just wondering how it works when doing an insurance claim and you loan the horse.
Unfortunatley my mare has been lame (vet originally suspected an abscess) but is now thinking that it could be a fractured pedal bone
- she's probably going to have to go in for x-rays etc in the next day or so (just waiting on a call from the vet now).
So what i'm wondering is I insure the horse myself - her owner has gone AWOL - and hasnt once contacted me since i've had the mare, doesnt seem to be living where she was when i took the mare - and i'm a bit worried she'll need to do something for the claim. when insuring the horse i advised she was on loan to me and so thats all fine, just wanted to find out if anyone else has had to do an insurance claim whilst the horse has been on loan with them and how did it go? we arent likely to be talking £1000's of pounds - fingers crossed its the pedal bone, couple of call outs, and x-rays so only £100's.
Also if you want to send some healing vibes for my poor girl - shes feeling very sorry for herself!!
