This has probably been done to death, so apologies.

What insurance company do you use? how reliable are they?

Thanks :) x

We have just insured with KBIS after a lot of researching and couldn't find anything negative about them, they have different options and are reasonably priced.

I use Carriage House for the big one, and have always found them excellent. I'm a BHS gold member so the shettie is covered by that.

NFU although the prices have gone up quite a bit this year, they are still cheaper than any of the others i got quotes for - petplan, SEIB, KBIS etc. Plus they have paid out huge amounts on my horses without any quibbles.

Used petplan for years, always reliable, always pay out very fast, even when my eventer had a tumour in his eye which ran into many thousands to fix, they paid up straight away.

However, the munchkin is with NFU because i refused to do a 5 stage vetting on him after owning him a year, because his value had increased beyond £3000, so changed from petplan to them. No idea what they are like, as never had to have vet out on him at all!

Was with NFU till a few days ago but my renewal came through and it had doubled!! Called them and there was nothing they could do to get payments down so I started getting quotes elsewhere. Cheapest was Carriage House and they seem to have a good reputation so have changed to them.

I use Carriage house, been with them about four years good premiums and two claims both handled with understanding and prompt payment direct to my vets very happy with them

My renewal with NFU runs out this month and I am going to move as I know there will be a big price hike, also their reputation has gone downhill of late. I am going to move to KBIS, got a really good quote from them and have has a lot of recommendations for them.

Im with E&L and before you start being negative please read as THEY DO PAY OUT,AND my claim was PROCESSED WITHIN 3 DAYS OF THEM RECIEVING IT AND THE CHEQUE CAME 2 WEEKS LATER. Also they have reduced my payment for me,2nd time running and if I get a letter from my vet, they will consider removing the excluson for the sarcoid. Had zero problems with them and they are NOT as bad as people make them out to be.

NFU are excellent but yes they have wacked their prices up but service is 5*. My tractor insurance went up £70 this year! I did shop around and they knocked about £15 which really annoys me as a lot of insurance companies want to haggle these days!

E&L I avoid but my sister had a good experience and no problems

SEIB are supposed to be good and again I have BHS Gold £59 per year as I dont currently insure my old boy for health (as his premium would be the cost of a treatment no doubt)! SEIB are on BHS website and I have rang them for advice etc for other things excellent etc. I am a happy hacker and for years I didnt think I could join the BHS for some bizarre unknown reason to me!??
