Insurance Company refusing to pay claim

As one other poster has said... if he's not in desperate need of PTS now, try arguing with the insurance company for a couple of days. Get on the phone to them, and refuse to go away without the answer you require.

Even if they choose not to pay out, you have had their permission, which will count towards something.

I have just had a big fight with my dog insurance company and won eventually. My argument is:

We insure our animals, something happens we tell our vets do whatever needs to be done , I am covered with insurance, we then have to wait and fight to get the bill paid. I found this to be very stressful, our vet bill was a lot of money and the pathetic excuses are really not on.

I am now doing BHS Gold Insurance for horses and will have a vet fund pot.

This.

I had a fight with petplan after my horse was PTS...he had a strangulating lipoma- needed surgery but was so ill he wouldn't have made the journey. He was suffering - vet PTS. They said as I had chosen PTS rather than have the available surgery they wouldn't pay out. The vet wrote a strongly worded letter and they did pay out. Although frankly I was more concerned about the horse than the payout.

I find it amazing they would have rather have paid for the surgery than the value of the horse- which was the lesser figure.
