Is this going to become a more common problem?

Just noticed on another thread someones insurance company (Amtrust) I think they said have refused to renew after a claim (haven't even offered increased policy cost / exclusions).

My friend has just had SEIB refuse to renew her policy after claiming for an Op. to remove a bone chip, in the 1st year she was insured with them. She called to discuss and the openly admitted that if the claim had been 5yrs down the line they probably would have just added exclusion (so just bad luck/timing).

However is this going to be a more common coarse of action? How easy is it to insure a horse that has already been refused cover? How many are going to end up with horses which are uninsurable?

Seib have just refused to renew my mums policy due to two claims but where happy to renew me with a large £5k claim. I've gone with pet plan this time and mums gone with Scottish equestrian.z

wow, not had this despite a large £5K claim plus a second £2K claim in the same period!!! Would highly recommend rural, through equestrian insurance services. Only reason I moved my older horse is because their old horse policy isn't as comprehensive as alot of other companies ones. Still have my younger horse with them though.
