I've had a horse that has suffered an injury whilst in a field. It has a puncture wound and needed urgent surgery. I have vets fees included on my insurance but have noticed an exclusion that states :
Injuries caused by barbed wire , stock fencing and plain wire fencing.
I have post and rail fencing, with electric on top, no wire, would this fall under stock fencing?
Were not even sure how the injury was caused but have been stung by insurers in the past and am worried they will not pay out if there is a possibility that it was caused by the fencing.
Or are post and rails fine re the insurance? Has anyone had any experience with this.
Also I need to re-do some fencing for a few fields and am interested in using the specialist horse wire. Would this be ok with the insurance or would this be classed as stock wiring.
Thanks

I would interpret stock fencing as stockade type fencing, I.e sheep net? Might be wrong though?!

Me too - a friend's horse degloved its leg on this. Assumed trying to have an itch, leg went through small gap and damage done as mare tried to pull it out. Fatal damage sadly.
