Hi all, a bit of help would be appreciated please...am hiring a trailer from my livery yard, to go on a fun ride, and (stupid me) have just seen the small print saying hirer is responsible for trailer insurance. Oh bugger. Does anyone know where I can buy insurance online/ over the phone on a bank holiday weekend? I only need it for one day. Also, will it cover the towing vehicle or do I need extra for that? (Towing vehicle has its own normal insurance, obviously, I'm not driving round uninsured!!) Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks.

You should be covered on your towing car insurance for any damaged caused by the trailer but not damage of the actual trailer.

So if you had an accident your insurance would cover the damage to other people and property but they wouldnt repair or replace the trailer.
You would need separate trailer insurance from another company, NFU etc.
