Hi

I wondered if anyone knew of a dog insurer that would offer a new policy for an 8 yr old Rottie? I'm fully aware that any pre- existing conditions wouldn't be covered and that's fine (you can only rupture each cruciate once lol!)

Changed my girl over to Pet Guard last year and her premium was half what I paid for Benny but was in middle of claim on his policy so swallowed it and stayed put....just got this year's renewal through and the buggers want £1440 *THUD*
Pet Guard won't take on a dog over 8 yrs old, so no go there

Help!

Got a new policy for my 14 yr old Patterdale from Pet Plan last year, no exclusions on it but have to pay 20% of the cost.
Of the very few companies that would take him on that was the cheapest and best deal.

Marks and Spencers will insure oldies. I insure mine with them and only started with them when he was 9years old.

It's M&S that have doubled the price....

Lots of them state they'll insure dogs over 8 until you mention it's a rottie and then it's a no go :-(

Have managed to get one reasonable quote so far from Argos :-$ at £944 and one for £3180 from Halifax

Thanks for your suggestions, much appreciated
