Those of you who have sharers or other people riding their horse ... what do you do about insurance?

At the moment my horse is insured for other people to ride but not to have lessons on. May be getting someone to ride him couple of times a week and just wondered what situation was if she wanted to have the occasional lesson - does she have to have separate insurance or is it easy enough to get someone added to your policy?

Are you sure it doesn't mean it's not insured for people to use him to teach on, rather than have lessons? Anyone can have ride or have lessons on my horse wit my permission, but I can't use him to teach anyone on and make money from it...then you need instructor insurance or something like that.

The 3rd party liability bit in the insurance says ..

we will not pay ... "Any compensation costs and expenses if someone is riding your horse for professional lessons or riding at a riding establishment unless that person is a member of your immediate family"
... although previously it does say that "you" also includes anyone riding your horse with your permission .... hmmmm better give them a ring tomorrow I think.
