Insurance prices for £5k horse

Do you think £500 ish is resonable or sky high? This is the best quote I can find at the mo - to include £5K vets fees and intro eventing cover.

I am used to paying £200 ish for the others but their value is not as high.

i pay £489.29!
for my 6 yr old with Nfu insured for 5k

I pay just under £450 for mine with NFU. I suppose premiums vary depending on age of horse & area you live in, as does car insurance.

Horse insurance premiums seem to increase significantly if you value your horse over £5k.

I'm jealous Vicki_krystal, my boy is 5 and insured with NFU for £5k and it is £660!!! Must be the postcode i'm in!!

i pay £600 for beys insurance(similarish value but different age!)

Postcode shouldn't really affect the premium, it's more likely you have differing covers, different class of use etc.

I work for the NFU and sell horse insurance and the post code does not come in to it!!
