Just spoken to my very upset friend who had to have her horse PTS on saturday.
He was on long term loan and the owner made the decision, to have the hunt take him.
Friend had the insurance in her name, has called insurance company today and has been told that she isnt covered because the hunt took him and he wasnt PTS by a vet.
Horse has been treated for past 3 months for kissing spine, and the vet was the one who advised them to call it a day as there wasnt much hope of the situation improving and dispite treatment and manipulation he was in a lot of pain.
Im not very experienced in this sort of thing and obviously havent seen her policy. she said shes too upset to fight it, so has sort of given up.
So my question is, is this normal? (I dont think its very fair!!)
FYI insurance company was e&i
Any thoughts? experiences?
