Insurance quotes

Didn't want to hijack Cara_88's thread about best horse insurance (here)

NFU doesn't seem to have an online quote thingy (or I'm being blind). Can anyone give me a rough idea of their premiums?

I've been trying to price up in prep for next year, and have been going with an imaginary horse around 16hh, 8 years and used for basic stuff (schooling, hacking etc, not hunting or xc). Insured for around £3000. Just trying to get ideas

just got another one insured with NFU - very similar to your imaginary horse.

Including loss of use, loss of animal, vets fees and liability it is pushing on towards the £600 mark!!! It would be about half the price if it didn't have loss of use.

They don't have online quotes but if you ring them they are very friendly and helpful and will get a quote back to you within a day.

Just got mine through today with NFU, reckon now after reading the above mines cheap! Its £479 for a 10 yr old 16.2hh sports horse, RC, hacking etc, vets fees, tack, personal liability, rider and LOU I think!! (see post above
