Hi I had a barefoot trimmer out yesterday and she mentioned that my horses feet look a bit odd with there shape. Which I agree you can see that (can take a picture if anyone wants to see) She also mentioned it must be something going on in the pedal bone area.
My horse is not insured but as she said this I think I need to get her insured incase we need xrays etc in the long run. Can anyone recommend me a good insurance company for vets fees? If this is what I need? Our cars are insured with NFU so I wasnt to sure if to try them.
Thanks for any help

You won't be covered for any pre-existing conditions, so probably not much point getting insurance now.

I am with NFU, and have been for years, I like them very much, but there have been complaints about them on this forum for the lasy 12 months or so about prices going up, and not being so quick to deal with claims (although I have had a very large claim and had no probs).

Others also recommend Pet-Plan and SEIB I believe.

At the moment she is sound and in work so at the moment there isn't a problem. I just wanted to get something sorted in case it does start causing her problems

I am pretty sure that a lot of horses have odd shaped feet without any problems at all. Our Advanced horse has! His near side front is slightly wider than his offside, which is also slighty more upright/boxy. Never had a problem and he s in his late teens now!
As for insurance have been with the NFU for years but my premium has just increased by nearly 50% :( I have just got a very reasonable quote from SEIB, so I wil be switching :)
