Insurance Recommendations?

Hi,

I've had my loan horse for 3 months now and am looking to insure her. She is kept on the owners yard.

What arrangements do you have with regards to loan horse? Do you pay full amount or half?

What insurance companies have you found offer good value for money? I was planning to just put a bit aside each month in case of insurance payment, but was then concerned in case I had a string of problems arise.

I am planning to purchase this horse within the next couple of years also.

You need to discuss this with the owner, terms will vary and while you are loaning from the owners yard I think they need to be involved in any decision made on insuring her, if they don't already have her insured you need at least cover for public liability and an agreement in place as to who is responsible for vets bills etc.

Whether you purchase in the future has no bearing on insuring her now although depending on her value a vets cert may be required.
