Insurance - Subject to a 2stage vetting

1500 is not a lot tho....................I thought it was 2.4k and over for a vetting cert.

Anyways, just got a quote of £75 from Carridge House for liability for him so might go with that.

Cant put down vets fees due to him getting ill, and standing on a nail at a previous stables

Yeah I wouldn't have said it was due to his value as I have mine insured for 1.5k as well.
I would check out petplan as well as you can just fill his info in online and they tell you the cost, just as another company to check out the price for.
It is a shame you can no longer insure for vet fees

You can cover him for vets fees - it just won't cover an existing problem.

Well, He ot a nail in his frog - but the 'nail' was only about 80mm long and he hadn't had his feed done for about 6 weeks so it punctured sod all!
Then he got colic because they put him in a lush paddock AGAINST my advice and well - he gorged (what part of STARVATION PADDOCK ONLY did they not get!)
Then he got a cough, they didnt know why but I think it was the abundance of buttercups - oh and a horse he was in with had had a cough for about 1 year that wouldnt shift.

So it would exclude - colic, legs, and respitory. So basically anything worth insuring against

. And that was all from one yard..........................................That is why I am against the policy of phoning the vet before the owner WHATEVER the issue, as some things dont need the vet! The bloody 'nail' fell out when they picked his hoof out - he wasn't lame, there wa no heat so therefore I feel it did not require treatment.

Sorry........................I am just still pissed off at all that stuff happening as had he been at old yard then I would have dealt with it and obv he wouldn't have had colic as I would not have put him in a lush paddock.

I need chocolate now
