I am insured and have been for the last 15 years. I have had a lot of claims in that time.
Absolutely no way would I not insure however I only have one horse. In the last two year claims for
1. Suspensory injury
2. Tendonitis
3. Arthritis
and now hopefully going to be doing a claim for ulcers.
Pony in vets for last week 5k vet bill for gastic impaction. I don't think this will be covered as he has had colic before though insurers say there may be a possibility if the other colics were gassy or for a different reason.
If I was insured and had no claims then I would be delighted as it would mean a healthy horse.
I am also lucky enough to have savings to back up insurance.
