Have just been looking at my insurance renewal for 3yrold WBx. It seems v expensive to me-£52per month and not insured for LOU. Is this on a par with other horses, just think that maybe he is being tarred by my old horses claim history-which was v long and cost petplan lots over the years!

they should not 'tar' you with your older horses claims each one is different. I am with NFU & they have not even considered my old nags history with my new nag all they did was give me my mutual bonus accrued with old nag and put it on my new account plus a 10% discount for some reason ( not that i minded)

Petplan are an excellent insurer from what i have been told by friends with them however I am led to believe they are on th epricey side. Try other companies except E & L and see what they say

i was with petplan, tried to get a quote of nfu and they just totally wasted my time never ringing back, a lady on my yard told me about amtrust, she uses them had to claim LOU and vet fees and they have paid up straight away and they are cheaper than petplan. so i am going with them now

It's likely to be rated on his sum insured so, whether or not you have LOU, if the sum insured is high your premium will be high.
