south essex are great. both on price and paying out!!
Depends on what you want look carefully as some pay out only half the cost of huge things like MRI (I know nfu do this) but some also cover stabling and travelling costs to hospital.
Insure your saddle with you house insurance, not only is it cheaper but much better cover as they cover accidental damage and new for old etc
I use NFU and have never had any problems. My tack is covered under my home insurance. I used to use S Essex, but they were very arsey when my tack was stolen and refused to pay out unless I could provide receipts for every item stolen, which I couldn't do. They were VERY unpleasant about it. Thankfully DirectLine were their usual super efficient and helpful selves and paid to replace all the tack.
They have put their premiums up this year, but when I rang around for quote SEIB and Petplan were more expensive, KBIS only slightly less, but they wanted a vetting done! so was cheaper to stay with NFU and they really are great at paying out and have a fair exclusion policy so it was a relief in a way to stay.
ETA my horse in only insured for £3500.... was surprised I HAD to have a vetting!!
