I cant believe this weekend I will have had Basil 1 year! but that means its time to renew his insurance.

I have used NFU this year & fortunatly have not had to make any claims so have no experience of how good they are. Have got a quote for renewing with them but was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for other companies. Obviously I want a reliable company that should I need to make a claim, will make it as easy as possibly (although i know easy isnt a word often used in conjunction with insurance). however i dont want to pay over the odds either.

If it helps Basil is a happy hacker, occasionally go on pleasure rides but dont compete. he is kept at livery.

I'm just in the process of swapping from NFU (whom I've been with for years) to KBIS. The NFU premium had gone up considerably, looked at KBIS and they offered a very comparable policy for round about half the price of NFU ... no brainer really
 
i just looked at KBIS, yes is a lot cheaper, but vets fees only go to £3000 (poss as this is how much i valued basil as) whereas NFU is £5000. if anything happened an extra £2000 is a lot to find. so am not sure
