Hi This is my first post on H&H. Just had my renewal from Churchill for my Whippet
Horrified that my premium has gone up from £9.95 per month to over £20 !!!
Phoned them and was told all policies have been increased to cover the increase in vet fees ? BUT I repied how do you justify 100% plus increase.....I dont know she replied but there is nothing we can do.
Wondered if anyone else was insured with them and found the same.

if you haven't had any vet claims then have an argument with them saying along the lines of ' you haven't had any claims so why should you subsidise (sp) everyone elses claims............
you may get a reduction worked for my car insurance

Did u recieve this renewal via the post? Its just I was with churchill and I recieved a renewal by post for my car ins and it had gone up by £29

.................I then got a renewal quote online and it was back to the origional price

I phoned them and explained and they agreed that I could get it cheaper online and that I could renew online if I wanted

It may be worth checking your online quote for churchill rather than your post quote

Thanks for advice. Told them I had no claims but said it made no difference.
Will try to get quote on line and check difference

Failing that they will get stiff letter of complaint

I work in insurance and although I don't know a thing about your policy terms etc I do know that by and large 'normal' direct insurers who sell pet insurance make no money out of it- it doesn't really make a profit at all and the only benefit is the hope you'll buy other products. So, I would not even blink at substantial rate increases. Horse insurance is even worse lol!

By all means complain but I don't really see what grounds for complaint you have- if you can get a cheaper quote for the same level of cover take it elsewhere.

Try getting a quote with Tesco, i have been with them for years got dog and cats with them. I actually had to make a claim this week as Benson is very ill

and they seem great about it.

Let you know if premium goes up in October!!!!
