I have just had the shock of my life, I have had my Dog's insurance renewal quote sent to me, he is 9. £130 per month! that just seems absolutely crazy to me.

Is that the going rate?

I was paying £70, the only claim I have put in for was removal of a cancerous lump in his leg. No medication and he is now as fit as a fiddle.

That's high!! My JRT she's 9 now and I'd had to claim for multiple times was only £52 with M&S. We've cancelled it now as we're not doing anymore treatment due to her ongoing condition.

Have a look at M&S they were great for us and always contactable via phone!!

IME there’s often a bump at the renewal after they turn 8, that’s the age at which most insurers don’t offer new lifetime policies (even as low as age 5 for some ‘select’ breeds with Petplan, for example). Depends very much on the breed as well.

That's high in my experience but they do bumb as dogs age. Fizz is 9 with one claim for Pancreatitis and we pay £63 per month.
