I'm with AmTrust Equine and am very happy with them.

I think you'll find they have absolutely NO connection with E&L at all!!! That is Horse-Insurance.co.uk. insuremyhorse is CETA insurance and if you look is underwritten by Towergate.

It's easy enough to see - you look at the 'about us' part of websites. Don't just assume they are all E&L - sure they do have many guises and various websites but this isn't one of them.

Nope! E&L are E&L I do not actually know who they are underwritten by or whether it is just them to be honest. I do know they aren't connected with Towergate though. Towergate's Equine Insurance is through AIUA (Agricultural Insurance Underwriting Agency). Towergate itself is a huge insurance company though.

I seem to get a vibe that a lot of people dont like E&L insurance, Why is this? Im looking into getting Rider Only Insurance, So Any Experiences?

Thanks!

Nick.

They are nothing to do with E&L.

Insuremyhorse are the company that used to be called Equestrian Direct. They were sold or went out of business earlier this year and are now called something like Equestrian Insurance Services and they underwrite themselves as Insurance Direct (something like that, I can dig out the letter they sent me if you like).

ED's underwriter was Templeton but since the takeover, Templeton or what-was-ED have appointed a loss adjuster, Equine First, to deal with outstanding claims or claims by existing policy holders.

As an ED customer, I wouldn't insure with them again. I moved one horse and my trailer to Amtrust (who I would recommend) when those policies were due for renewal and will be moving the horse I am claiming for over to Amtrust as well in the summer when his policy expires.

InsureYOURhorse is Equestrian Direct InsureMYhorse is not related to Equestrian Direct. Hmm, it does get a bit confusing as the names are similar. InsureMY do many different insurances though - insuremycar, insuremyhouse etc etc.
