A friend of mine wants to borrow my car and trailer for a trip to a local show.....

She cant do it on her insurance, so I have to do it on mine...... will they do it for one day or will I have to change the policy????

Is it reasonable to expect the borrower to pay the extra on the insurance? .....

Thankies

Its easy - just ring up your insurer and they will add that driver for the day - but get that person to pay you the extra. If that person has their own fully comp I am sure they would be insured TP with your car anyway.

I would contact your insurance company & ask them to put your friend on your policy for the day & get them to pay the insurance premium for doing it. Your friend may have fully comp insurance on their own vehicle & this will invariably cover them to drive yours TPF&T but don't do that. If something happens the other vehicle would be repaired by their insurance but you would be left with a dented & mangled piece of junk.....get them to pay for a days fully comp insurance.

yep- i've done this for friends before- it costs about £20 to do it for the day but well worth it in case they have an accident. just ring your insurance company- you'll need friends full name and DOB and how long they've been driving for and if they are UK resident.
