The intelligent horsemanship? does anyone have any experience of it? I am in contact with a lady who practices this and is reccomended by Kelly marks. The techniques will be used with my very nervous shetland. x Any one used this on a horse or pony, successful? any comments xx

Yes! i use it with both my horses. I have had nothing but good results from it. Also used it on a friends horse who was very very difficult to bridle. now bridles with no problems :-)

excellent results re float loading, my horse particularly claustrophobic, so took time, (not fixed in one day), but they gave me the tools to work on it myself, and just have them out every now and then, so cost effective and I learnt from it.

Have also seen other people sort out various issues with their horses, and develop some very ordinary types into something special.

I used an RA with one of mine, it was last chance saloon for him as he had become quite aggressive and dangerous and I just couldn't deal with it. The RA had him sorted in one session and then he went to her for 3 weeks for starting, she worked with me when he came back and problem solved!

Yes, and have done a couple of their courses. There's so much common sense in it. It is not cult like, you can take what you want from it. You will only benefit from it.

Yes had an RA come out and in a very short time she had loan cob loading himself onto the lorry. Absolutely brilliant and would recommend her to anyone.

We also star in this month Horse magazine with the session we had.

I'd definitely recommend - following a post on here, Kelly Marks asked an RA in training (the lovely Bridget Hughes) to give me some help with general ground skills and loading. She was great - firm, consistent, patient and understanding. She gave me some really useful tips and made a great deal of sense, refusing to be intimidated by my chap's less endearing ways and giving me some key pointers to taking more control on the ground. Excellent and definitely not Parelli!

I would fully recommend anyone using Intelligent Horsemanship and the RA's - all the Recommended Associates I have met have a wealth of experience, they are friendly, they help you understand the process/ what they are doing with your horse (so you can carry on the great work and keep getting successful results after their time with you - it will be a great investment no question - Good Luck! :)

Welcome to the forum Kellys_smile. :-)
Op, maybe if you tell people where you are they will be able to recommend a particular RA who could help you.

not used it myself but my big girls old sharer went on one of kelly's courses and only had good things to say, she also got big girl to load in 15 mins after her owner had no luck for an hour!!! It is something i would consider using should the need arise
