Well today me and Charm made our way over to Ardingly for the inter hunt relay.
Charm was quite worked up by the time we got there and was being a major PITA to stud up and get ready in the lorry i was ready to call it a day there and tie her up to the railings and see who took her (jokes)
After finally managing to get ready we went over for our turnout judging. I had taken all the brilliant advice i had from people on here and although the team didnt win the turnout i had some lovely comments from the judge about how beautifully turned out we were.
Off we went into the ring and she was being good and was just about keeping all four feet on the ground for the walk around.
When the first teams were going she was getting a bit worked up but somehow managed to keep her brain.
On to our turn!!
Our first rider went off and went well up until the gate where there were a few problems after that he soon picked up the pace and handed over to our 2nd rider who also had a few problems but again did then get into the swing of things and then it was me.....
Charm flew off like a rocket over the first and i just about managed to get her back to a walk for the bridge with a gate at the end, i felt like i was riding like a complete numptie with too long a rein but we did have some disagreements with the string on the gate and going near it so i turned her back once and just managed to turn her before hitting the bridge sides... on the second attempt i wasn't quick enough and she locked on to the bridge and jumped over the whole thing in true MSFD Style!!! (naughty but WOW clever pony)
We then managed to shut the gate properly and went on to the next which the madam refused twice
off and over that and the next two and handed over to our last rider which by this time the other team had finished.
So we wern't through to tomorrow's final but we did have to jump again for 3rd and 4th place.
Our team's 2nd round was much better with everyone doing everything as it should be done and no "oh my god" moments and finished before the other team so we were 3rd overall today.
Not a bad result considering that none of our horses had ever been in such a busy show ring.
It was SO much fun i just can not wait to have another go!!
I apologise for the lack of pictures but as soon as i have some i will put them up.. Hopefully there will be one somewhere of us jumping the bridge...
