I don't think it is particularly high for a chaser clip though? It's still giving protection to the saddle area and over the loins etc. I think maybe because it's on a cobby type rather than a tb it looks a bit different.
It's different but I don't have a problem with it. I have done the opposite with my horses and done a low chaser clip that you won't find in any books.
I prefer to keep their backs and loins covered wherever possible.
It is a bit odd must admit. I'm normally the one complaining that people don't do their trace clips high enough, they're called trace clips because they should go along the trace lines of traditional carriage harness! I should think they're method to the maddness though, my guess the horse was getting hot in a "normal trace" but is also a little cold backed? And then couldn't be bothered to change it to a blanket? meh, as long as it works lol
Can't really see a problem with it myself. It's a useful clip, taking off what it needs and leaving the important bits on. I clip my horse out completely but a bit of that is due to me not 'doing' hair and also wanting him extra smart. I think this is a well thought out clip myself.
